A rare treat, the Elliott family gets a guided tour of the Ballona Wetlands. This section of the park is currently being rehabilitated. We met up with a troop of boy scouts clearing some exotic grasses to make way for more native plants. Can you believe this is so close to Los Angeles?

In a desperate bid for a break from Florida’s unrelenting summer sun, the Elliott kids explore the 100 year old Sunken Gardens of St. Petersburg, Florida. It was a simply shady retreat. They followed it up with a dip in the ocean in Clearwater Beach. Next time they’ll save time for the neighboring attraction, Great Explorations.
